Travel to the UK
Once you have received confirmation that your child’s place with us is secure, we advise planning their transfers to and from the school. Your Student Support Manager is here to offer guidance on booking the most suitable flights, assistance with airport transfers and detail on our arrival and departure procedures during the summer. For any students travelling alone, we ask that parents refer to their airline’s policy as an Unaccompanied Minor Service may be required.
Please note that flights should be booked on the stated Arrival and Departure dates
For any flights landing at Heathrow Airport, Summer Boarding Courses offers an Airport Transfer Service to the Oxford College Summer School for an additional cost*. This will be in operation throughout the scheduled arrival and departure days and available for all flights between 6.00am and 17.00pm. For this reason, please ensure that flights are booked to arrive and depart on the published course dates. For any queries about flights scheduled outside of these times, please speak with your Student Support Manager before finalising your child’s transfers.
Once students have successfully passed through immigration and collected their luggage, they will be met by a member of our transfer team who will be waiting for them at the entrance into the arrivals hall. All of our team based at Heathrow will be clearly identifiable and kept updated on all flight schedules to ensure that every student is safely met. Our team will then accompany students from the terminal to our Welcome Club and then onto the college.
*Please note that coach transfers between Heathrow Airport and Oxford College are an additional cost to published the course fee of £90 per journey.
On each arrival day, we provide a safe and welcoming base for students to recoup following their flight and wait comfortably before the coach departs. Welcome Club offers refreshments, entertainment and a place to unwind and to meet other students arriving for their courses before the journey to the school. Welcome Club will be supervised by our transfer team who will encourage students to contact home, if they haven’t already done so, and ensure that they are well organised and have all their belongings before boarding the coach.
Parents may wish to accompany their children directly to the Oxford College, taking the opportunity to visit the city and settle their child into the new environment. Your Student Support Manager will assist in organising independent travel to and from the school, should this be required. If you plan to deliver or collect your child, please ensure that they arrive and depart on the scheduled course dates.
